PARISH-BASED SUPPORT GROUP

FOR SEPARATED AND DIVORCED CATHOLICS

The program is called “Surviving Divorce:  Hope and Healing for the Catholic Family”. It is a DVD series developed by Rose Sweet, a dynamic Catholic author and speaker who has developed this program to heal Catholic families! We meet weekly for twelve weeks for an hour and a half at local parishes in Monmouth County.  Two sessions are available yearly, Fall and Spring. There is also a monthly program that runs through the Summer and a Surviving the Holidays seminar offered in November and December of every year. The DVDs last approximately 30 minutes, and then we have open discussion on a variety of topics such as grief, anger, depression, forgiveness, dealing with your ex and your family, how to tell the children and help them cope, how to navigate the Court system, your finances and more. I work with a team of professionals that I bring in as guest speakers to help you through this process. We are committed to the program and to divorced and separated Catholics throughout the Diocese and we are eager to assist you in any way we can. Our primary collective goal is to bring about your healing in your own time and support you along the way. The website to learn more about the program can be found at www.catholicsdivorce.comFor more information, about me and my experience running this program, click here.

Testimonial from a 2015 Participant of the Surviving Divorce Program:

Hi Michele, I just want you to know that I really think you help people. So many people who go through divorce feel like they have been disposed of. What a horrible feeling for anyone to have to endure! It is so important that people in pain have social contact with other people who care and understand. Like we have been taught in church, as disciples of Jesus we need to see Him in others. I love what you are doing. I truly believe Jesus is in it with you every step of the way!!!

SURVIVING DIVORCE:  HOW AND HEALING FOR THE CATHOLIC FAMILY

This program was developed by Rose Sweet,

the only speaker on divorce at the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia in 2015.

For more information, visit: www.catholicsdivorce.com.

I have been trained at the Diocesan level to facilitate this program and have been doing so since 2011.

I am also trained to train people who may want to facilitate a divorce program at their parish.

This ministry is near and dear to my heart.

It is an evangelization effort to return

the brokenhearted and abandoned members of our parish communities

back to the Church to offer them hope and healing!
